When at the Royal Academy Schools, among his teachers were Peter Greenham, Roderick Barrett, William Scott and Leonard Rosoman. Dai was regarded highly enough to be invited back to teach drawing under Leonard McComb.
Dai says “I was fortunate to be taught art as architecture. Drawing reveals the way an artist thinks. It means by which one makes visual relationships.”
