French School

Adrien Jacques Sauzay (1841–1928) was a French painter born in Paris. A student of the renowned Italian painter Alberto Pasini, he was introduced to landscape painting and developed a style that showed a post-impressionist technique and a coloring resemblance to Corot. He exhibited his first work at the Paris Salon in 1869 at a young age and continued to participate regularly, where his talent was quickly rewarded with several medals. He also exhibited at the Universal Exhibitions in Paris. His works are held in numerous museum collections, including those in Louviers, Le Havre, Guéret, Glasgow, Carpentras, Brest, and Arras.
