Charles Felix Edouard Deshays

Charles Felix Edouard Deshays was boorn in Toulon on 9 November 1831 and dying in 1895. He exhibited under the name Deshayes, was a student of F. L. Français and Sénéquier. He made his painting debut at the Paris Salon in 1864 and became known for his landscapes of the Île-de-France region and Paris. Using a subtle blend of colours, he specialized in portraying the nuanced effects of light at different times of the day. His work is held in numerous museum and gallery collections.
