Ernst Albert Becker was a German genre, animal, and landscape painter. Becker studied at the Royal Prussian Academy of Arts in Berlin with August von Kloeber. After completing his studies, he worked for Kloeber until 1860. He then spent a year in Paris. From 1862 he again helped Kloeber with the creation of frescoes in the newly built building of the Berlin Stock Exchange. Albert Becker often painted landscapes with grazing cows, which earned him the nickname “Kuh-Becker”. Becker transformed “Kuh” into a “Q” and has since signed his paintings with “Q-Becker”.
