Alexis August Delahogue was born on the 6th of July in 1867. As a perpetual socialite in the French Artistes community, Delahogue was a known participant in the Salons of that society. He is most notable for his landscape paintings and is considered a master at capturing agricultural life on canvas. Delahogue and his twin brother Eugene were both talented painters. Both men painted scenes of their travels to the Maghreb region, especially of Algeria.
Galleries and museums which have displayed Delahogue’s work include the Louviers Museum.
