Florian Grass, a living artist specializing in floral still lifes, comes from a well-known artist family in South Germany. His father, Hans Grass, is a famous painter of flowers and winter scenes in Europe. After spending much of his youth in his father’s art studio, Florian trained for two years at the Academy of Kaufbeuren, Germany and studied Realist painting for two years at the University of Munich. He has also had studied extensively in Italy and The Netherlands.
Grass exhibits frequently at such places as Salzburg, Zurich, Nice, Venice, Berlin, as well as Munich, and his works can be found in various galleries throughout Germany. Grass’ highly detailed realist paintings resemble 17th Century Old Masters, and are comparable in style to those of the highly regarded British artist Cecil Kennedy (1905 – 1997), whose paintings currently achieve prices in the range of $80-100K each.
